Branding Photography || Caroline Beaton

I was so excited when Caroline reached out to me for her new brand portraits. Most of my branding clients are from out of state so I was thrilled to be working with a fellow bosslady in my home state of Colorado — and also invite her to my brand new portrait studio!

Caroline Beaton is a writer. Specifically, she’s a workplace psychology journalist who helps ambitious millennials plan fulfilling careers. Her work has been featured in Forbes, Inc., Psychology Today, Business Insider, to name a few. Intrigued? One of my favorite parts of my branding process (whether it’s for graphic design or photography clients) is to research my client’s online presence. I basically stalk their websites and social media to see how they are currently representing themselves and their brands — then I figure out how to improve their visual branding. My job is to determine how they can better communicate their brand beautifully and authentically.

Caroline wanted images that she could use on her website and instagram account — something professional AND personal. I took into account her existing brand color (a golden yellow) and her use of illustration to accompany her writing. To play off of these existing brand elements I suggested a studio Bosslady Portrait session, styled in only her brand colors (yellow, black and grey) with a simple white backdrop. We created images with a lot of negative (white) space so that she could place text or illustration over the images. I also created 5 “slider” images for her website.

Caroline was an absolute blast to work with — and it helps that she’s gorgeous too! I am so in love with how this photo shoot turned out.
