Tired of staring at your computer, hitting the refresh button on your inbox, hoping and praying that you’ll get a new client inquiry?
If you’re spending more time waiting on clients, than working on finding them, then it’s time to get busy, girl!
You know your Ideal Client, and you’ve got the branding and website to make them fall in love! But that’s only part of the equation…
First, your clients have to find you!
It doesn’t matter how perfect your website is… you have to get traffic to that site. So here is a list of 19 creative ways you can get your name/work/brand in front of that dream bride:
-
- Plan a styled shoot with vendors you’d like to work with
- Submit styled shoot images for publication (magazine or blog)
- Share styled shoot images (blog and social media) and tag all vendors — have them do the same!
- Put out a model call for an actual engaged couple for your styled shoot
- Run a contest for a free engagement session
- Connect with a local jewelry store and offer free proposal photos to their customers
- Connect with a local wedding planner and create a “styled” proposal package together
- Find out when the next trunk show is for your favorite bridal shop and offer to photograph it
- Get a list of brides emails at the trunk show and email them a few high res images
- Make an album for a venue you’ve shot at before
- Create a referral group with other local photographers who have a similar style and price range
- Create a referral group of other vendors with a similar style and ideal client
- Find a local group on meetup with the same interests as your ideal client and offer to teach a free photography class
- Find an event that would attract your ideal client and offer to photograph it
- Create style boards (color + wedding inspo) from your own photos — share on your blog and social media
- Start a series of vendor interviews (and include complimentary headshots!) — share on your blog and social media
- Reach out to venues you’d like to shoot at, offer to take photos, and interview them for a “venue tour” series on your blog
- Gift high res images to the venues and leave your business cards
- Connect with a local bridal shop and start a collaborative “wedding fashion” series — share on your blog and social media
It’s time to hustle, girl! That perfect client isn’t going to just appear out of thin air… But now you’ve got 19 ideas to get you started. So get busy!
