Want to know how I’ve booked five-figure packages—from people I’ve never met, never talked to, who’ve never even DM’d me?
It all comes down to one thing: Content marketing.
Seriously. I’ve had complete strangers binge my YouTube videos or podcast episodes… and then book a discovery call ready to say, “I already know I want to work with you—how do I book?”
That is the power of content done right.
And by the end of this episode, you’ll know how to build a content strategy that grows your coaching business and attracts high-ticket dream clients—on autopilot.

Hey Coach! I’m Moriah Riona—award-winning luxury brand designer, luxury branding coach, and the host of the Superbloom Coach Podcast.
And this is Superbloom Coach Presents: The Ultimate Guide to Starting Your Life Coaching Business!
If you haven’t already downloaded the free workbook that goes along with this entire series—stop what you’re doing right now and grab it! You can go to moriahriona.com/workbook
Okay, today we’re answering a huge question that I get from soooo many coaches:
Should you start a blog, a podcast, a YouTube channel… or all three??
And spoiler alert: You do not have to do everything (in fact, when you’re just getting started I would HIGHLY recommend against it!)—but you do need a content strategy that works for YOU.
So, let me share a little of my own story—and how I now have all three!
Okay, let’s rewind to 2018—when I first started my YouTube channel.
I’d already had a blog for years, and it was doing *okay.*
But I had heard video content was super powerful. That it could grow your business, build your brand, and convert clients.
And that sounded like a great reason to start a YouTube channel.
But honestly? That’s not why I did it.
The real reason?
Nobody could ever pronounce my name.
Seriously—every discovery call… it was always,
“Maria?”
“Moira?”
“Mo… Mo—what?”
So I thought, you know what?
I’m just gonna get on video and introduce myself. Over and over and over again.
(And yeah, it totally worked.)
What I didn’t expect, though, was how powerful YouTube would become for my business.
I started showing up consistently. My content started ranking in search.
This series runs as both a podcast and a YouTube show, helping me share content that grows my reach across multiple platforms.
There’s something so intimate, so real, about being in someone’s earbuds while they’re driving, walking, folding laundry… it builds deep connection fast.
And the best part? YouTube and podcasting work beautifully together.
This series you’re tuning into is a perfect example.
This series is both a podcast and a YouTube show, creating content that expands my reach across multiple platforms.
Let’s talk about the real differences between these content marketing platforms—because I’ve used all three to grow my coaching business, and I’ve seen firsthand what works (and what doesn’t).
Before I ever hit record on a video or podcast episode, I had already built a blog—and I knew how powerful it was for SEO.
A well-optimized blog post can drive traffic to your website for years.
Seriously, I still have blog posts from years ago that bring new people to my site every single day.
The beauty of blogging is that it’s highly searchable, strategic, and can be totally evergreen.
You write it once and it keeps working for you. It’s also a great way to build credibility and establish yourself as an expert in your niche—especially if writing comes naturally to you.
Real Quick:
Let’s break down two terms I’ve been throwing around:
This is any content that goes deeper than a quick tip or Instagram caption.
Think blog posts, podcast episodes, and YouTube videos.
It’s designed to educate, inspire, and build trust—and it becomes the foundation of your entire content marketing strategy.
With my 1:1 clients we always start with long form content first—because everything else (social media, email, even offers) flows from there.
This is content that doesn’t “expire.” It stays relevant over time and continues to attract your dream clients weeks, months—even years—after you publish it.
A well-optimized blog post, a YouTube video that ranks in search, or a binge-worthy podcast episode?
That’s evergreen magic—and it’s how content marketing becomes a long game strategy for your coaching business.
So back to blogging—here’s the thing: a blog can’t build a relationship with someone the way a voice or a face can. It’s powerful, yes—but it’s missing that emotional connection that comes from hearing your voice or seeing your face. That’s where the next platform comes in.
When I finally decided to try video content, I didn’t expect it to be as powerful as my blog.
What I didn’t realize is that YouTube is actually just as powerful—maybe even more. It’s owned by Google and it’s the second largest search engine in the world. So when I started putting content on YouTube, I was essentially doubling my visibility.
But here’s the real secret sauce: video builds trust in a way nothing else can.
There’s just something about seeing someone’s face. Watching their expressions. Hearing their voice. It creates a real connection—especially for coaches.
You’re not selling a product—you’re selling trust. And YouTube helps you build that faster than any blog post ever could.
But it’s also a lot of work.
As a seasoned wedding photographer, I had the equipment—and some of the know-how—to get started.
But what no one tells you is how much goes into video. I’d have to clean my house first (because of course I was filming in it), do my hair, do my makeup, set up my lighting and camera, hit record… and then do all the editing afterward. Oh, and scheduling. And thumbnails. And writing YouTube descriptions and tags.
In those early days?
I was doing every single part of that process by myself.
And let me tell you—it was exhausting. I talked myself out of filming all the time because it felt like such a production.
Which is why…
Podcasting has a similar intimate, relationship-building energy that video does… but without the pressure.
No one sees your face. You can record in your pajamas—no need for professional lighting or a camera setup. All it really takes is a good microphone and something worth sharing.
And for so many of my clients—high achieving professional women building their coaching business on the side of their 9-5—podcasting is way more sustainable.
It allows them to show up consistently, build trust with their audience, and position themselves as an expert… without spending hours getting “camera ready.”
That said, podcasting isn’t perfect.
It’s not as discoverable as YouTube or a blog post.
It takes a little more effort to get your content found—because podcasts aren’t search-optimized in the same way.
But when you pair your podcast with a blog post or transcribe it for SEO, that’s when you really start to unlock its full potential.
I’m going to tell you exactly what we do for our 1:1 clients.
Inside Luxury Brand Leader, we help our them build their full business and marketing ECOSYSTEM—and we always start with one key decision:
What’s your longform content platform?
You don’t need to do it all.
You just need to pick ONE and do it really well.
To help our clients figure it out, we ask:
Are you a talker? A writer? A performer?
Where are your dream clients hanging out?
What can you actually commit to consistently, without burning out?
Then we build everything else—their social media, email, blog, Pinterest strategy—around that one core piece of content.
It’s your content hub. Everything else flows from there.
Here’s what I recommend for most coaching businesses:
Pick your longform platform—and to build deeper connection, I highly recommend you use video or audio. So this will be a YouTube channel or a Podcast.
Create one high quality, high value episode per week
Repurpose that episode into a blog post for your site (and embed your YouTube video or podcast episode right into the post).
Turn that episode into 3-5 social media posts (think reels, carousels, stories, and more)
Send the episode to your email list with a link to check it out
Create 5 Pinterest graphics for each blog post and pin it to Pinterest (hello evergreen traffic!)
Okay, so now I want to know…
Are you team podcast or team YouTube?
