Hello Colorado Springs!

Over the course of our two-and-a-half year year relationship, Matthew and I had collectively moved five times, and at the end of July we made it six. If you’ve noticed a quite lull around my corner of the internet it’s because I’ve needed some time and some space to deal with this transition.

I have been thinking a lot about the concept of “home” lately. The word’s meaning has changed a lot for me over the last year. Home used to be something permanent, stationary and secure. As I write this post from a makeshift “home office” upon a hotel room bed, the word “home” now conjures feelings of vulnerability and instability. So now I wonder if home is not a place but a state of mind?

Just like the adage, “home is where the heart is,” I think that my home is with the one I love, and not bound to any structure. This idea is simultaneously liberating and terrifying as I thrive on stability and structure. However, my concept of home is about to become much more permanent once again.

It is with much joy that I announce that Matthew and I have officially moved to Colorado Springs. We will be closing on our very first house in less than two weeks and we will be calling this place home for the foreseeable future. Oh, how the thought of a mortgage soothes my weary-from-wandering soul!

In conjunction, I am also very excited to announce that my business is officially relocating to Colorado Springs. I started my wedding photography company in Northern Colorado back in 2008 and have since photographed weddings all over this lovely state. I will continue to do so, but I am most excited to now be Colorado Springs-based, and connect with all the incredible wedding venues and vendors this town has to offer. I am also offering branding services to boss ladies and creative entrepreneurs everywhere.
