Hey Lovely! If you’ve visited my site/blog lately you may have noticed all of the maternity leave announcements I’ve plastered across it. Yes, I officially started my maternity leave last week (and wanted to be very transparent about that). No, little man is not here yet. But I’m absolutely exhausted and I decided “it was time.”
I’m feeling a little overwhelmed because I had a lot of lofty business goals I was hoping to accomplish before little man made his appearance, and many of them have not been completed yet. However, I feel like I really need to dedicate what little time I have left (before he arrives) to preparing for him. I’m still busy getting a nursery together and packing my hospital bag. Thank goodness for my awesome parents who have visited us several times and helped with numerous baby projects — especially putting the nursery together. I’ll be sure to post a nursery tour once it’s complete!
I wanted to give you all a heads up about my maternity leave so you can know what to expect from me over the next few months. I plan to dedicate a full uninterrupted three months to my family and my little guy once he gets here. That means that I don’t plan to work at all during that time.
Having workaholic tendencies, I know it’s going to be hard for me to “let go” of my work for so long. It is especially hard as a small business owner/one-woman-show because nobody is here to pick up the slack while I’m away. However, I’ve decided that this time — being a brand new mom and having a brand new baby — is too important and I want to give it my full attention. I’ve never been great at multitasking so I really want to focus on this new chapter of my life before returning to the hustle of my career.
During my Maternity Leave:
I plan to return to work in mid July.
Thank you so much to all of my friends, family and followers for your support, consideration and patience during this special time. I look forward to connecting with you when I return.
