A million dollars sounds pretty nice, right?

Do you catch yourself daydreaming about what you’d do with that kind of money?

Maybe you’d travel the world without worrying about your credit card bill…

Maybe you’d build a savings account that finally gave you peace of mind…

Maybe you’d finally be able to afford the home of your dreams…

What if I told you that the key to success was to stop treating a million dollars as a daydream—and to start treating it like an actual, real-life GOAL?

I know—it sounds impossible

But that’s exactly the point!

In this video, I’m sharing what I know about Impossible Goals—so you can stop limiting yourself with small thinking and start generating the income of your dreams.

So let’s start with the basics!

What exactly is an Impossible Goal? (Do I Really Think I can make $1 Million Dollars a Year?)

It’s a goal so big that you’re almost sure you won’t achieve it. I know—it sounds pretty terrible at first! But the real magic is that it actually pushes you to reach for something bigger and scarier.

An Impossible Goal is designed to push you out of your comfort zone. And the loftier they are, the better.

I first learned about the idea of the Impossible Goal from my life coach, Brooke Castillo of The Life Coach School, in her program “Self Coaching Scholars.” It’s one of my favorite practices, and I’ve been doing it for the last few years.

The thing is, even if you don’t meet your goal, you still achieve so much more than if you had stayed safe with your goal setting. And I have no doubt that without setting these Impossible Goals for myself, I would still be stuck in small thinking—and with small paychecks.

So my advice to you is to bring on those massive goals! And make them as outrageous as can be.

[My Impossible Goal: Make $1 Million a Year]

Now, are you getting curious about what my Impossible Goal for this next year is?

It’s pretty lofty…

And it’s definitely outrageous

My goal is to make $1 million in revenue next year. ONE MILLION DOLLARS.

That’s wayyyy more than I’m currently generating in revenue. But it’s what I have my sights set on, so I don’t limit myself with an imaginary income ceiling.

I know this seemingly ridiculous goal will motivate me to make smarter decisions and not get too complacent. It will empower me to move through my perceived limitations with confidence.

Okay, I shared mine… now it’s your turn! Comment below with your own Impossible Goal! Trust me—it’s so powerful to be bold and let others in on your plans.

Here’s How I’m Working Toward My $1 Million a Year Goal

It’s not enough to just have an Impossible Goal—you have to actually show up. A lot more goes into the process to make it a successful approach to growth.

So here are 3 of my best tips for entrepreneurs to maximize the power of your Impossible Goal:

Goal Setting Tip #1: Get Crystal Clear

Most goals fail because people aren’t clear enough about what their goal actually is. When you start setting goals for your business, you’ll need to be incredibly specific. And give yourself a definite timeline to achieve the goal—because it’s much more likely to motivate you when your goal isn’t ambiguous.

Here’s my goal: Make $1 Million in revenue by December 31st of next year.

With this goal, I know exactly what I’m aiming for and exactly when I hope to achieve it. So there’s no room for me to be wish-washy about it!

Goal Setting Tip #2: Don’t Skip Goal Planning

It’s one thing to dream about making $1 million a year, but it’s something entirely different to actually accomplish it. To make your dream a reality, you HAVE to have a plan.

In one of my recent videos, The ONE piece of advice I’d give my younger self, I talked about an older goal of mine and how I met it. Like many entrepreneurs, I dreamed of making $100K in my business, so I made a plan to get there.

I spent my time building a business that got me to 6 figures. Everything from the services I offered to the way they were priced, and the way I was marketing them, was built to get me to 6-figures.

And it worked! But after I reached my $100K goal, I realized that I’d always wanted to make 7, and then 8 figures in my business.

Can you relate to this? Hit the ‘Like’ button if you experienced this same kind of disappointment when you met one of your goals!

After I realized I had been working towards a very limiting goal, it dawned on me—I had no idea how to make a million dollars. It became clear that I needed to rethink everything.

I needed a new PLAN.

So I reframed the way I offer my services, how I market them, and the systems in my business to get me to my Impossible Goal of 7 figures. And that’s what I’ve been doing ever since! I’m well on my way to an income I never dreamed was possible.

Goal Setting Tip #3: Be Okay With Failure

Listen, I know it can be scary and *super intimidating* to set a goal that you’ll likely fail at. And it’s even scarier to put it out there and share it with the world!

But on this entrepreneurial journey, you have to realize that failure is a necessary part of it. It’s how we learn and it’s how we grow. And quite honestly, the ability to accept failure is what sets ambitious entrepreneurs (like you and me!) apart from people who spend their lives building someone else’s dreams.

Because without setting BIG goals for yourself and accepting that you may fail, you’re likely to continue playing small—and staying STUCK.

I don’t want that for you! I want you to see how limitless you truly are. And the best way for you to do that is to start setting bigger goals.

And there you have it! Now you know how to set Impossible Goals for your business—including my own to make $1 million a year. So now you can open yourself up to the abundance available to you—and start making more money.
