Poudre Canyon Photo Shoot //Jeremiah

I don’t think I talked to Jeremiah once during Graphic Design I. It was my very first design class and I was overwhelmed. I got lost in my own congested thoughts as usual and put up a wall, simply to cope. When the class reconvened after Christmas break to become Graphic Design II and we all claimed our same seats, purely out of habit, I looked across the room and was glad to see Jeremiah sitting there. I remembered him from the half smirk he typically wore that boasted the expulsion of another snarky comment and that tattoo on his forearm which commanded me to “Forget Regret.” I think I finally talked to him in the Mac Lab when I was staring desperately at my Adobe Illustrator document, wishing that my blank screen would simply produce the design I had in my head. So, timidly, I asked Jeremiah for help.
That was all it took. Suddenly, we were the closest of friends, as if we had always been. Somewhere between staying up way too late chatting on Facebook [under the guise of accomplishing our design projects] and questionable adventures in Denver and our regular coffee breaks to escape the drone of another bad Pandora playlist in the design lab, I found a true friend. Although he is seven years my junior, his maturity and compassion allow me to confide in him and draw strength. Not to mention, I can’t stop laughing when he’s around. Thank you Jeremiah. You are an inspiration as an artist and as a human being.
Jeremiah is a graphic design major like me, and he is also majoring in photography. Over spring break we drove up the Poudre Canyon, just north of Fort Collins with our classmate and dear friend, Mandy, to play in the gorgeous light and swap portraits. Here are some of the images I got of Jeremiah.
