Becoming a life coach is one of the most fulfilling—and profitable—ways to do both.

I started my coaching business from scratch and turned it into a multi–six–figure brand, all online.

And today I’m going to show you how to do the same.

Because by the end of this post, I’ll show you the exact steps to start your own life coaching business and get paid to change lives.

Here’s the painful truth: mindset isn’t enough, and strategy isn’t enough. You need both.

Most coaches promote one of two extremes.

On one side, we have the mindset-only crowd. You’ve seen them. “Just journal more. Visualize harder. Trust the universe. Light a candle. Say an affirmation. Your dream clients are coming.”

And look, I love a good journal session. I love mile long Pintrest vision board. I love visualizing what you want and raising your standards. But mindset without strategy is like buying a gorgeous designer blazer and then showing up to the Zoom call without pants. It’s a strong choice. It’s bold. But it’s incomplete. At some point, you need the full ensemble. You need structure underneath the vibe.

But then, on the other side, we have the strategy-only crowd. These are the hustle bros. The ones saying, “You need a 47-step funnel. You need to post four times a day. You need to be on Instagram and TikTok and YouTube and LinkedIn and send three emails a week and go live every other afternoon. And sleep is for the weak!”

Um… no thank you.

Strategy without mindset is just self-sabotage. If you haven’t worked through your fear of being visible, your money stories, your fear of charging real prices, or your people-pleasing tendencies, you will avoid the very strategies that actually make you money.

So the coaches who are quietly making real money online? The ones with consistent clients, consistent income, and actual freedom? They’re doing both. Inner work and outer work. Mindset and strategy. Belief and behavior.

So now that you understand that, let’s get into the actual step-by-step formula for how to make money online as a life coach.

I’m going to walk you through the exact framework I teach inside my program, Dream Client Accelerator. Think of this as your high-level roadmap.

Step one is your niche. I call this Niche Unlocked.

You cannot make money online as a life coach if your coaching is for “everyone.” 

So just stop.

The truth is: when you talk to everyone, no one hears you. 

It’s like walking into Sephora and saying, “Just give me something… for my whole face.” That’s not helpful. We need to know your skin type, your concerns, your goals. Are you looking for lip gloss, a contour palette, or moisturizer?? The more specific you are, the easier it is to get the result you want.

Your niche is exactly the same. Specificity creates desire, creates demand. Specificity creates money.

Your niche lives at the intersection of your experience, your passions, and what people are actually willing to pay for. 

You don’t need to sit down and pressure yourself to find the “perfect” niche that you’ll have for the rest of your life. You just need a clear one right now so that your future client instantly understands what you do.

Inside DCA, we spend an entire week on this, because once your niche is clear, everything else becomes easier. 

It’s like finally finding your correct foundation shade after years of guessing. Suddenly, all of your content, your offers, your messaging just start to click.

Once your niche is clear, we move into step two, which is your ideal client. I call this Ideal Client Breakthrough.

This is where we zoom in on one dream client and get slightly obsessed with understanding her. Or him. Or them. 

The point is that it’s one person, not a vague amorphous blob called “people on the internet.”

You want to know their daily frustrations. The thing they’re complaining about in their head when they’re brushing their teeth. 

You want to know their Sunday-night dread, and the thoughts that keep them up at night. 

Their secret goals, the thing they type into Google at midnight when their partner is asleep. 

You want to know the story they’re telling themselves about why they’re stuck, and what they wish someone would help them with.

Here’s the key: I always know what to sell BECAUSE I know my ideal client inside and out. That is honestly the entire game.

It’s not, “What do I feel like selling?” 

It’s, “What is my dream client struggling with right now, and how can I help them get a real transformation—FAST?” 

That is what you build your offers around.

Your job is not to wake up one day and say, “Maybe I’ll sell this today. Maybe I’ll do a random four-week program—because so-and-so coach is doing that.” 

Your job is to solve real problems for your real people.

Think of it like dating. If you’re trying to be liked by everyone, you end being bland and forgettable. 

But when you know your person, your type, your vibe—you instantly know what conversations to have and what energy to bring. Your ideal client works the same way. When you truly know them, your messaging feels like you’re reading their mind.

Once your niche and ideal client are clear, then we move into step three, which is your offer. I call this the Irresistible Offer Blueprint.

This is where most new coaches create chaos. 

They launch ten offers at once. A free challenge. A mini course. A low-ticket membership. Single sessions. Voxer-only coaching. Some kind of “virtual best friend” package. 

It’s a lot. 

It’s also why they feel overwhelmed and broke.

That is not a strategy. That is a clearance rack.

If you want to make money online as a life coach, you start with one main offer. 

One high-value, premium coaching program that solves a specific problem for your specific client.

Your offer needs to have a clear before and after. 

Where is your client starting, and where will they be at the end? 

It needs a defined container. 

For example, three months together, or six months together with weekly or bi-weekly calls, maybe some messaging support. 

It needs a process or framework that makes your client feel safe and supported, even if your “process” right now is just the way you guide them through sessions.

And then, of course, it needs a price.

And listen: You do not price based on your insecurity. You price based on the transformation.

The bigger the struggle your client is facing, the bigger the desire they have to change it, and the bigger the transformation you’re helping them create, the more you can charge. 

You are not charging for hours on Zoom. You are charging for the result that changes their life.

I’ve created multiple high-ticket offers based on this exact thinking, and you can too. 

But you have to stop treating your coaching like a little hobby you sprinkle around your schedule. You’re building a real business

So, Own that.

Once you have one solid offer, then we move into step four, which is how you actually attract clients to it. 

I call this Dream Client Attraction.

This is where everyone wants to complicate things with a funnel and retargeting ads and seventeen different platforms. You do not need all of that to make your first five to ten thousand dollar months as a coach.

What you need is a simple, repeatable system that brings people into your world and leads them toward working with you.

So first, choose one primary platform. 

Maybe that’s YouTube, a podcast. Maybe it’s Instagram

Don’t try to be everywhere. Be somewhere, and be excellent there.

Then, start creating content that your ideal client actually cares about. 

Not vague inspirational fluff. 

Not random Pinterest quotes. 

Helpful, specific, problem-solving content that makes your dream client think, “Oh my gosh, how is she in my head?”

From there, you need to actually invite people into your offer

This is the step most coaches skip. 

They post content and wait for their audience to spontaneously develop telepathic powers and guess that they’re selling coaching.

Please don’t do that.

Your content should regularly include clear invitations. 

Things like, “If this is resonating and you want help with this, here’s how we can work together.” 

Or, “I have space for two new 1:1 clients this month. If you want to work with me, here’s what to do next.”

And finally, you need to have real sales conversations. 

That might be through DMs, email, applications, or sales calls. 

Content alone is not a sales strategy. 

Content that leads to conversations, plus a clear offer, is how you create clients.

But even from this high-level view, I want you to see how much simpler this is than what the internet is trying to sell you. You don’t need ten offers and a twenty-page funnel. You need clarity and a basic path.

Now, let’s talk about the secret ingredients that almost no one ever shares when they talk about making money online: your CEO energy.

These are the quiet, unsexy moves that have made the biggest difference in my income.

One of the biggest things I did was build systems

Not cute color-coded to-do lists that never get used. 

Actual systems. Workflows. Processes for how clients come in, how they’re onboarded, and how we deliver.

Systems create stability. Stability creates income.

Then, I grew a team

You cannot scale if you insist on doing everything yourself. 

You can’t be the coach, the designer, the video editor, the admin, the bookkeeper, the copywriter, and the strategist forever. 

If you’re doing #allthethings in your business—you’re doing your business a huge disservice.

You need to step into CEO-mode asap and start delegating from the get-go. Stay in your zone of genius, and hire others to stay in theirs.

Hiring support and delegating tasks that drained me freed up my energy for what I do best: coaching, creating, and leading.

I also invested heavily in myself. 

Every major leap in my income happened right after I invested at a level that stretched me (like big-time, wake up in the middle of the night in a cold sweat asking “did I really just invest $25,000 in that coach,” stretch me). 

This looked like: High-level coaches. Exclusive masterminds. Rooms full of women who were already living the life and running the business I wanted.

If I hadn’t been willing to invest in myself and my development, I would never have attracted clients who value coaching enough to invest at that level too. 

You cannot expect people to invest in you when you have never learned how to invest in yourself. That’s just the truth.

And finally, I built my business around my non-negotiables. I refuse to build a business that burns me out, leaves me resentful, or feels like a boring old nine-to-five grind.

My standard is very simple: I do work I love, for clients I love, and I get paid really well to do it. If an opportunity doesn’t align with those standards, it’s a no.

And I know, you might be watching this thinking, “Well that’s great for you, Moriah. Must be nice. But I’m not there yet. I don’t have the niche, I don’t have the offer, I don’t have the clients… I’m just trying to get this thing off the ground.”
